Levels and Stages
These stages are only a guideline and progress depends on the individual and how many hours of study and practice they put in. Our teachers are all highly qualified and trained and will advise you should you have any questions.
TOTS - 2 - 4 yrs (Nursery/Pre School)
PRE PRIMARY - 4 - 5 yrs (Pre School -Yr R)
PRIMARY / LEVEL 1 - 5 - 8 yrs (Yr 1 & Yr 3)
LEVEL 2 - 7 - 11yrs (Yr 2 - Yr6)
LEVEL 3 - 10 - 14 yrs (Yr6 - Yr9)
LEVEL 4 - (Yr 8 - Yr 11)
ADULT - 18 yrs +
SILVER SWANS - Over 55’s
Ballet
Tots Ballet (2.5 - 4 yrs)
Pre Primary Ballet (4 - 5yrs)
Primary Ballet (5 - 7yrs) - to take the Primary exam students must be 6 years old by the date set by the RAD
Grade 1 Ballet (6 - 9yrs) - to take the Grade 1 exam students must be 7 years old by the date set by the RAD
Grade 2 Ballet (7 yrs+)
Grade 3 Ballet - students are expected to take a minimum of 2 classes a week from this level onwards if they wish to continue with examinations
Grade 4 & Grade 5 Ballet - students are expected to take a minimum of 2 classes a week
Inter Foundation Ballet is studied twice a week (pointe work is inclusive to class)
Intermediate Ballet is studied twice a week (pointe work is inclusive to class)
Advanced Foundation is studied twice a week plus private coaching
Advanced 1 and Advanced 2 is studied twice a week plus private coaching
Acrobatics
Students must have achieved everything on their skills list for the Level they are studying in order to move up a level. Practice makes permanent and gets results!
