LEAVE AT THE INTERVAL or ARRIVE AT THE INTERVAL

Due to number restrictions and dressing room allocations we have listed in the cast lists who needs to LEAVE at the interval or ARRIVE at the interval. We hope to make this transition as smooth as possible and we appreciate your patience and support to ensure everyone who wants to can take part.

We will be licensing the under 16 year olds with Surrey County Council and all the people supervising your children must be licensed and trained chaperones.

The smallest performers in the LION KING DANCE will arrive 15mins before the show starts in costume and be taken to the dressing room. They will get ready to perform within the first half an hour of the show. They will then get changed into a onesie or tracksuit and have a snack and be ready for collection as soon as ACT 1 is done. We want to ensure they have a really positive experience so we will call them to a separate small rehearsal on Friday 24th April and offer a tour of the theatre on Monday 27th April with their grown ups so you all know what to expect. We extend this invitation to any performers who have never participated in a show :)

OPT OUT

There is only an OPT OUT option so we will assume you are participating unless told in writing to admin@bkdperformers.co.uk

DEADLINE to opt out is 3rd February 2020 as we will be sourcing costumes and confirming show details.

Siblings and Adults in the same families will be in the same team where possible and depends on the configuration of the classes

Some of the younger students will need to be collected at stage door in the interval and older students will be asked to arrive at the interval

TICKETS

Due to fire regulations we ask that you purchase a ticket for your child to join you after the interval. There may be other families with performers in Act 2 only so you may be able to buddy up and share a ticket. The Facebook group is a good place to haggle for tickets and it has worked well in the past.

Babes in arms do not need a ticket.

The box office will be opening soon….

PHOTOGRAPHY

PHOTOGRAPHY AND RECORDING WILL BE STRICTLY PROHIBITED DURING THE SHOWS in order to abide by the licensing laws, safe guarding and child protection guidelines. You will be asked to stop filming/taking photos and asked to delete the footage.

Studio photographs will be taken at the Friday Dress Rehearsal - 24th April for our smallest performers by Kim Blondell Photography.

Studio photographs will be taken at the Saturday Dress Rehearsals - 25th April for our older students by Carmel Jane Photography.

The Saturday shows will be RECORDED by Wizard Video Productions and Carmel Jane Photography will be taking action shots during both shows. DVD’s and photos will be available to purchase after the show.

BALLET

  • We will be performing a PETER PAN BALLET within the showcase along with the rest of the school.

  • We are no longer able to rehearse show numbers in the ballet classes as we have exams every term now and it will disrupt and slow the process for students studying for their ballet exams and class awards. Any students due to take their exams or class awards in April will be in the group they are currently in for the show. Eg Taking Grade 1 Ballet exam - they perform with fellow Grade 1 students in the show.

  • Rehearsals for the Peter Pan Ballet will be held on Friday evenings between 5.30 - 9pm and Saturday afternoons 3.30 - 6.30pm. Starting from Friday 31st January. Not all students will be required at each rehearsal and we will not hold rehearsals for the younger students too late where possible.

  • ALL STUDENTS currently in Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5 and Inter Foundation will take part in all 4 shows with the exception of Daniele M in Gr 2.

  • ALL STUDENTS currently in Primary Exam, Grade 1 and Grade 2 will split into BLUE and GREEN TEAMS and perform in 2 shows each team.

TOTS, NURSERY, PRE PRIMARY and PRIMARY LEVELS

  • ALL STUDENTS currently in Pre Primary and Primary classes will perform in the MINI LION KING DANCE and be split into BLUE and GREEN TEAMS and perform in 2 shows each team.

  • ALL STUDENTS currently in Tots and Nursery classes will perform in the MINI LION KING DANCE and be split into BLUE and GREEN TEAMS and perform in 1 show on the Saturday only.

  • There will be NO MINI MATINEE this year.

ADULT

  • Adult Ballet will be perform on Thursday 7pm and Saturday Mat 1pm

  • Adult Street Funk and Fitness will perform on Friday 7pm and Saturday Eve 5pm

  • Silver Swans Wednesday will perform on Thursday 7pm and Saturday Mat 1pm

  • Silver Swans Friday will perform on Friday 7pm and Saturday Eve 5pm

BKD BOYS

  • The older BKD Boys will be doing a spectacular Avengers number all of their own in the show and will be in all 4 shows.

  • The younger Inter BKD boys will be in Rotten to the Core with the other Street Funk classes. They will be split into either the BLUE or GREEN teams and perform in 2 of the shows each team.

MUSICAL THEATRE

  • Musical Theatre show rehearsals will take place in the regular weekly classes as we have done in previous years. If your child is unable to participate they will still be involved in the rehearsals but just not perform in the show.

  • Mr Ollie will be doing a piece from ‘Seussical the Musical’ with all his classes and will invite the students to overlap their classes to rehearse nearer the show. The Primary and Junior classes will be split into BLUE and GREEN teams and perform in 2 of the shows each team.

  • Miss Cathie will be doing a piece from ‘James and the Giant Peach’ with all her classes and will invite the students to overlap their classes to rehearse nearer the show. The Primary and Junior classes will be split into BLUE and GREEN teams and perform in 2 of the shows each team.

  • Students who are in several other show numbers may perform in all 4 shows and we will advise those individuals via email.

JAZZ AND CONTEMPORARY

  • Jazz and Contemporary students have already started their choreography in their respective classes. Miss Jodie is still running the class as usual so if your child is not in the show they will still have a class and learn the routine as they would in a regular term.

  • Junior and Inter Jazz will be split into BLUE and GREEN teams and perform in 2 shows each team.

  • Students who are in several other show numbers may perform in all 4 shows and we will advise those individuals via email.

STREET FUNK

  • Street Funk students have been very busy learning sections of their show dances in class. Classes will still run in the same format even if your child is not in the show.

  • Junior, Inter, Mini Mixed Level groups will be split into BLUE and GREEN teams and perform in 2 shows each team.

  • Students who are in several other show numbers may perform in all 4 shows and we will advise those individuals via email.

ACROBATICS

  • Miss Jodie has now selected some of the higher level students for the Acrobatics show number and rehearsals will be within class time.

LAMDA and PRIVATE SINGING

  • Miss Katie and Miss Cathie will select students to perform in the show as solos, duets and small groups.
